She’s a composite
mixture of art activity, beginning with a hometown county fair blue ribbon
pencil drawing (she was seven). Over the years and through ink, pastels,
charcoal, and oils she sold some of her cartoons, exhibited her oil
paintings, accepted commission work from businesses, organizations, and
individuals alike, and gives artwork as gifts and for charitable purposes.
On January 10, 2000,
she began her art business, working exclusively in acrylics. Jazz, her favorite music
form, is a frequent subject, and jazz instruments will make an appearance
on everything from T-shirts and long dresses to moleskin shirts and
elegant wraps. Another favorite subject—theatrical masks—is popular
too. Nanci also composes flower designs for textiles and arrangements for
canvas from photographs that she herself takes. |
